This specimen was lot 1242 in Sincona sale 79 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$360 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN | Königreich, George I. 1714-1727. 1/2 Guinea 1724, London. First laureate head. Rare date. NGC XF Details. Damaged." This bust was used on the half guinea 1715-24. Guineas were superseded by sovereigns during the reform of 1817.
