This specimen was lot 74648 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2024), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Penny, 1723. London Mint. George I. PCGS Genuine--Scratch, VF Details. A well-struck copper piece that retains fairly clear detail despite moderate circulation. The noted scratch is easily overlooked and blends into the rich brown surface patina." The type is listed for 1719-24 and was the second half penny issued since 1701, none being minted during Anne's reign.
