This specimen was lot 71313 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Penny, 1722. London Mint. George I. PCGS AU-53 Gold Shield. Variety with ∀ for V in legend. A minor edge crack is noted, butt this charming example is otherwise a great showcase for this interesting die variety." The type is listed for 1719-24 and was the second half penny issued since 1701, none being minted during Anne's reign.
