This specimen was lot 1239 in Sincona sale 79 (Zürich, October 2022), where it sold for 6,500 CHF (about US$7,790 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN | Königreich, George I. 1714-1727. 2 Guineas 1720/17, London. Laureate head. Rare. NGC AU Details. Minor graffito on reverse." This rare type is listed for 1717, 1720 and 1726. Guineas were superseded by sovereigns during the reform of 1817.
