This specimen was lot 20250 in Ponterio sale 176 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $4,406. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. George I, 1714-1727. 2 Guineas, 1726. NGC EF-45. Laureate bust right. Rv. Crowned cruciform shields with scepters in angles. Strong hair detail and excellent surfaces. Ex: Gold & Silver Exchange Ltd., 1981." Two guineas of George I are known for 1717, 1720 and 1726.
