This specimen was lot 176 in Sincona sale 75 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 7,500 CHF (about US$9,104 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Grossbritannien | Königreich. Anne, 1702-1714. 1/2 Guinea 1702, London. Pre-Union type. Draped bust. NGC AU Details. Leicht gereinigt. (lightly cleaned.)"
This type was struck 1702 and 1705 and is rare. It does not bring the enormous price of the half guinea of 1703, with its boastful "VIGO" legend.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 4.175 g, 0.917 fine gold, 0.123 troy oz AGW, this specimen 4.17 g.
