This specimen was part of lot 22791 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), which sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Maundy Set, 1698. William III (1694-1702). Nicely struck with even tone and strong underlying luster. Quite exceptional for this normally well circulated issue. All designated prooflike by PCGS. Provenance: From the Q. David Bowers Collection." This type is listed for 1697-1701 yet is fairly common.
