Sincona sale 47, lot 2836

This specimen was lot 2836 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 750 CHF (about US$900 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND, Grisons, Graubünden, Kanton, Batzen 1836. Münzzeichen HB. Selten. Fast FDC. (canton of Grisons/Graubunden, batzen of 1836, mintmaster HB. Rare, About uncirculated.)"

This issue, with the HB mintmaster's initials, is much scarcer than the regular KM 15 without. Forty batzen made a thaler.

Reported Mintage: 99,000 (including KM 15).
