This specimen was lot 73743 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $504. The catalog description[1] noted, "GIBRALTAR. 1/5 Crown, 1993. Surrey (Pobjoy) Mint. NGC PROOF-69 Cameo. Struck to commemorate King Edward VIII, later styled as the Duke of Windsor, this example resides at the cusp of perfection." The Gibraltar section of the SCWC is stuffed with non-circulating commemoratives minted under license by the Pobjoy mint and marketed to collectors worldwide. One fifth crowns for 1993 include KM 126, 150, 152, 153, 154, 155, 156, 157, 158, 159, 160, 161, 162, 163, 164, 165, 166, 167, 168, 169, 170, 171, 172, 173, 174 (shown here), 175, 176, 181, 185, 189, 199, 204, 204a, 208, 212, 216, 220, 224, 643, 644, 645 and 646.
