This specimen was lot 70628 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, February 2020), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Third Reich. 10 Pfennig, 1941-A. Berlin Mint. PCGS Genuine--Environmental Damage, AU Details Gold Shield. Military Issue. A well struck and fully detailed zinc issue, which has fortunately escaped all but the most minor corrosion typical of this metal. Surfaces are charcoal hued with only a hint of lighter dusting." This type was struck 1940-41 for use in Nazi-occupied territories. All the dates are scarce to rare except the 1940-A. KM-101 represents the civilian issue struck at the same time.
