This specimen was lot 1032 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY: Weimar Republic, AR 5 reichsmark, 1930-A, Liberation of Rhineland, a wonderful proof quality example! PCGS graded Proof 64 CAM, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This type is not rare but still expensive. The occasion of the commemorative was the withdrawal of French occupation troops from the Rhineland and its return to German control.
Recorded mintage: 325,000 plus proofs.
Specification: 25 g, 0.500 fine silver, 37 mm diameter.
