This specimen was lot 71588 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2020), where it sold for $204. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Weimar Republic. 50 Pfennig, 1922-E. Muldenhutten Mint. PCGS PROOF-66 Deep Cameo Gold Shield. Mintage: 333. An enchanting and RARE proof issue presenting frosted devices and highly mirrored fields that ultimately form a great cameo effect." This type was struck 1919-22 just prior to the hyperinflation which destroyed the value of the mark. This date is common altho the proofs are rare.

Recorded mintage: 33,930,000 plus 333 proofs.

Specifications: 1.6 g, aluminum, 23 mm diameter.
