This specimen was lot 38432 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Weimar Republic. 3 Mark, 1922-E. Muldenhutten Mint. ANACS Proof-60 Details--Corroded, Tooled." This type was intended for ordinary circulation but ended up being struck 1922 only. The 1922-A is common while the 1922-E and 1922-F are rare.
Recorded mintage: 2,000 plus 1,000 proofs.
Specification: 1.95-2.03 g, aluminum, 28 mm diameter.
