This specimen was lot 1435 in Sincona sale 6 (Zürich, May 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALIEN Genova Doge Biennali, 1528-1797. Scudo stretto 1673. Kreuz, in den Winkeln Sterne. Rv. Madonna mit Kind und Zepter auf Wolken, der Kopf umgeben von Sternenkranz. Sehr schön. (Italy, republic of Genoa, biennial doges, scudo of 1693. Obverse: cross, with stars in the fields; reverse: Madonna and Child on a cloud with a crown of stars; very fine.)"

The republic of Genoa simultaneously struck scudi stretti, scudi largi and double scudi, which weighed 76 grams! Altho this type was struck without change from 1637 to 1725, it does not turn up often.
