Sincona sale 64, lot 3268

This specimen was lot 3268 in Sincona sale 64 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 180 CHF (about US$226 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND | Geneva | Stadt und Kanton, 3 Quarts 1763, Genf. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Fast FDC. (canton of Geneva, three quarts of 1763, Geneva mint. Rare in this condition, About uncirculated.)"

This type, shown here in billon, was struck 1753, 1763, 1775 and 1785. Presentation strikes were also made in silver.
