Sincona sale 77, lot 4218

This specimen was lot 4218 in Sincona sale 77 (Zürich, May 2022), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND | Geneva | Stadt und Kanton, Taler (Ecu) 1626, Genf. In der Rückseitenumschrift das ligierte Münzzeichen HC. Äusserst seltene Erhaltung. NGC MS61. (Switzerland, city and canton of Geneva, thaler or écu of 1626, Geneva mint, with initials 'HC" on the reverse. Extremely rare condition, uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1620-27, 1630, 1633-42, 1657, 1659. Most dates are rare and the 1626 is a better date. Only the 1622 and 1623 are reasonably available.
