This specimen was lot 77243 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Friedberg. 60 Kreuzer (Gulden), 1674. Johann Eitel I. PCGS AU-58. From the G. L. Hermann Collection." This type of 1674-76 is listed as fairly common, especially compared to the rare thalers. At the time, 3 kreuzer = groschen, 4 kreuzer = batzen, 90 kreuzer = one thaler. The free city of Friedberg evolved into a burgraviate and thence passed to Hesse-Darmstadt in 1802.
