Fribourg 1744 1/2 kreuzer KM-48
The first specimen was lot 3173 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$725 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Freiburg/Fribourg, Stadt und Kanton, Vierer 1744, Freiburg. Variante mit Burg. Sehr selten. Fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Studie zu Halbbatzen, Schillingen, Kreuzer, Vierer und 2/3 Haller von Freiburg i. Üe./Fribourg. (Switzerland, canton of Fribourg, vierer or half kreuzer of 1744, Fribourg mint, variety with tower. Very rare, About Extremely Fine.)"
A vierer was half a kreuzer. This type was struck 1744 only along with another type with a shield obverse (KM 45).
