This specimen was lot 22337 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $399.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRENCH INDO-CHINA. 10 Cents, 1928-A. PCGS MS-63 Secure Holder. KEY DATE. Lowest mintage of the entire nine year series. Light clear pastel toning with abundant luster. Catalogs for $875 in the current Krause catalog." This type was issued from the Paris mint 1921-30 and 1937 and superseded a similar design of 0.835 fineness (KM 9) issued 1898-1919. This is the key date.
