The first specimen was lot 814 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it sold for $129.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRENCH INDOCHINA: AR 20 centimes, 1922-A, NGC graded MS66." The second specimen was lot 819 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $199.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRENCH INDOCHINA: 20 centimes, 1922-A, PCGS graded MS66." This twenty cent piece is one of a type issued for French Indo-China during 1921-30. French Indochina was occupied by the Japanese in 1940. French attempts to reoccupy the area after World War Two were challenged by Ho Chi Minh and the Viet Minh, leading to French defeat and withdrawal in 1954. The colony was divided into Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
