This specimen was lot 821 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $152.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRENCH INDOCHINA: 5 centimes, 1925, PCGS graded MS65 RB." This type was struck 1923-25, 1930, 1937-38 and is common. French Indochina was occupied by the Japanese in 1940. French attempts to reoccupy the area after World War Two were challenged by Ho Chi Minh and the Viet Minh, leading to French defeat and withdrawal in 1954. The colony was divided into Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
