Frankfurt 1852 6 kreuzer KM-335
This specimen was lot 71413 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Frankfurt. 6 Kreuzer, 1852. NGC MS-65. Tied for the finest certified by NGC, this incredibly captivating Gem offers a sharp strike along with tremendous brilliance and luster. Exceptional eye appeal is on full display." This type was struck 1846-56 and is common. Frankfurt was annexed to Prussia in 1866 after choosing the losing side of the Austro-Prussian war, so perhaps these were saved as souvenirs. A six kreuzer with a city view (KM 350) was also issued in 1852.
