This specimen was lot 3673 in Künker sale 264 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €2,400 (about US$3,100 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"STADT 2 Dukaten 1711, auf die Krönung Karls VI. zum römischen Kaiser in Frankfurt. GOLD. RR Attraktives Exemplar, min. Randfehler, fast vorzüglich. (Germany, city of Frankfurt, double ducat of 1711, on the coronation of Charles VI as emperor in Frankfurt. Rare, minor rim flaws, choice extremely fine.)

Völlig unerwartet starb am 17. April 1711 Kaiser Josef I. Sein Bruder Karl, der 1703 als Karl III. zum König von Spanien ausgerufen worden war, kehrte aus dem Spanischen Erbfolgekrieg (1701-1714) nach Wien zurück, um die Regierung der österreichischen Erblande anzutreten. Er wurde in Frankfurt von den Kurfürsten am 12. Oktober 1711 einstimmig gewählt und am 20. November 1711 zum deutschen Kaiser Karl VI. gekrönt. In der umstrittenen Pragmatischen Sanktion räumte er seinen eigenen Töchtern, falls er keine Söhne haben sollte, die Erbfolge im habsburgischen Gesamtstaat vor den Töchtern Josefs I. ein. Am 20. Oktober 1740 starb mit ihm der Mannesstamm der Habsburger aus. Ihm folgte seine Tochter Maria Theresia. (Emperor Joseph I unexpectedly died on April 17, 1711. His brother Charles, who was proclaimed king of Spain in 1703 as Charles III, came out of the War of Spanish Succession (1701-1714) and returned to Vienna to take up the government of the Austrian hereditary lands. He was unanimously elected by the electors on October 12 in 1711 in Frankfurt and on November 20, 1711 crowned German Emperor Charles VI. In the controversial Pragmatic Sanction he admitted his own daughters, if he should have no male children, to the succession of the Hapsburg state. On October 20, he was succeeded by his daughter Maria Theresa.)"

This scarce type is mentioned in Friedberg but not in the SCWC.
