Steve Album Auction 52, lot 853

This specimen was lot 853 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE: Republic, AR 50 euro, 2017, selectively gilt, Place de la Concorde // aerial map, in original government packaging, mintage of only 500 pieces, Choice Proof." This NCLT celebrated the designation of the Place de la Concorde as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is one of a multi-year series titled "Trésors de Paris" (Treasures of Paris). It is the silver version whereas the KM number given below is for the gold version. This design was also used for a gold five euro, silver ten euro (KM 2379) and gold 200 euro (KM 2447).

Recorded mintage: 500 in silver plus 2,000 in gold.

Specification: gold: 7.78 g, 0.999 fine gold, 22 mm diameter. silver with partial gilding: 163.8 g, 0.950 fine silver, 5 oz ASW, 50 mm diameter.
