This specimen is from a type struck to commemorate the bicentennial of the birth of the author Stendhal. Along with this type was the regular Mathieu type (F.365) struck 1974-87 and a commemorative for the balloonists Montgolfier (KM 952). This module was last used in 1988 and the French franc retired in favor of the euro in 2002.
Recorded mintage: 3,000,972 plus 4,000 patterns.
Specification: 10 g, copper-nickel, 26 mm diameter, plain edge.
