France 1826-B 2 francs
This specimen was lot 1548 in Jean Elsen sale 116 (Brussels, March 2013), where it sold for €420 (about US$638 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
" FRANCE, Charles X (1824-1830), AR 2 francs, 1826 B, Rouen. Rare. Belle patine. Très Beau (kingdom of France, Charles X (1824-30), silver two francs of 1826, Rouen mint. Rare, nice patina, very fine.)"
It is one of a series struck 1825-30 during the reign of Charles X (1824-30). This is an issue of the Rouen mint which closed in 1836. It is scarce, as are most dates of this type.
Specification: 27 mm diameter, 10 g, 0.900 fine silver, reeded edge. Designed by Auguste François Michaut, 1786-1879.
Recorded Mintage: 24,431 (priced about triple the most common date).
