France 1749-AA 1/10 ecu

This coin, called a dixième d'écu au bandeau, was the French equivalent of a ten cent piece. In the coinage system of the ancien régime, the dixième d'écu = 12 sols. The type was struck 1741-72 and is recorded for the Metz mint ("AA") for 1740-41, 1743-50 and 1769.

Recorded mintage: 47,590 (priced^[2] about 70% more than the common date such as 1746-A).

Specification: 2.95 g, 0.917 fine silver, 22 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by J.-C. Röettiers.
