This specimen was lot 1297 in Goldberg sale 128 (Los Angeles, June 2022), where it sold for $750. The catalog description[1] noted, "France. Louis d'or aux lunettes du Bearn, 1738-Cow (Pau). Louis XV. Mintage 11,191. PCGS graded VF-35." The louis d'or aux lunettes was introduced in 1726 and was struck at all the mints until 1740. The Pau mint struck this type without interruption altho most dates are scarce to rare.

Specification: 8.15 g, 0.917 fine gold, 24 mm diameter, reeded edge, designed by J. C. Röettiers.
