from the Stack's Bowers October 2021 Collector's Choice sale, lot 70530

This specimen was lot 70530 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $192. The catalog description^[1] noted, "FINLAND. 5 Pennia, 1866. Alexander II. NGC MS-63 Brown. This choice uncirculated example exhibits a bold strike with smooth surfaces displaying rich brown patina with original mint red amongst the devices." This type is listed for 1865-70 and is cheap in circulated condition. Later types are noted for 1872-75, 1888-92 and 1896-99.
