This specimen was lot 31045 in Heritage auction 3096 (Dallas, TX, March 2021), where it sold for $3,480. The catalog description[1] noted, "Falkland Islands: British Colony. Elizabeth II gold Proof "100th Anniversary of Victoria's Death" 50 Pence 2001 PR69 Ultra Cameo NGC. Struck to commemorate the centennial of Queen Victoria's death, this issue boasts an attractive and popular Gothic-type portrait. Among four others at NGC in this top level of certification. From the Paramount Collection." This is one in a series of NCLT's issued in this format, all struck in copper-nickel, silver and gold. Only 3,400 people live in the Falklands so it seems unlikely that this coin circulated there.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common in copper-nickel, 10,000 in silver and 100 in gold.
