This specimen was lot 12 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €1,500 (about US$1,938 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Erfurt, Reichstaler 1621. RR Hübsche Patina, fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 98, Osnabrück 2005, Nr. 3434. (Germany, city of Erfurt, thaler of 1621. Rare, nice patina, extremely fine. from Kuenker auction 98, lot 3434.)"
The town was occupied by the Swedish army 1631-48 during the Thirty Years War and issued many coins during that time.
