The first specimen was lot 1316 in Ponterio sale 173 (New York, January 2013), where it sold for $446. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Sixpence, ND (ca.1550-53). London Mint. Edward VI (1547-53). Scarce. Tun mint marks. A bit of flat strike but nevertheless giving legend and portrait. VERY FINE." The second specimen was lot 56697 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[2] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. 6 Pence, ND (1551-53). London Mint; mm: Tun. Edward VI. NGC VF-35. Obverse: Crowned and mantled bust facing slightly left; rose to left, VI (mark of value) to right; Reverse: Coat-of-arms over long cross fourchee." The 'y' mintmark was used only in 1551. This type, using other mintmarks, was struck until 1553.
