The first specimen was lot 9138 in Ponterio sale 151 (Baltimore, November 2009), where it sold for $1,265. The catalog description[1] noted, "EL SALVADOR. Provisional Coinage. Real, 1835. Obverse: POR LA LIBERTAD DEL SAL : Reverse: MONEDA PROVISIONAL. 1835 Ex: Ponterio & Associates Auction #65 October 1993, lot #535. Extremely nice for this type. Some small, natural planchet flaws, soft strike in centers, full legends. Attractive, probably EXTREMELY FINE." The second specimen was lot 1115 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 39 (Winter Park, FL, May 2026), where it sold for $9,000. The catalog description[2] noted, "EL SALVADOR, San Salvador, provisional 1 real, 1835, POR LA LIBERTAD DEL SAL, NGC XF 45 (Richard Stuart Collection Label), Villavicencio Plate, Jovel/Yonaka Plate. Full fan with bold details except a few letter-tops in legend, light green-gold toning all over with contrast around details, natural planchet flaw below DEL, desirable pedigrees. Pedigreed to the Richard Stuart Collection, plated on page 101 of Monedas Provisionales del Estado Del Salvador (2019), by Miguel Villavicencio, and Plate Coin on page 70 of The Provisional Coins of El Salvador in the Central American Federation (2020), by Roberto Jovel and Brad Yonaka."
