Denmark 1677 2 skilling

from Schulman auction 385, lot 84

This specimen was lot 84 in Schulman auction 385 (Amsterdam, July 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Denmark - 2 Skilling 1677, Silver, CHRISTIAN V 1670-1699 Crowned coat of arms. Rev. Value. Attractive specimen. Almost extremely fine." This type was struck 1676-77 and 1680-81 and was worth 1/48 speciedaler. This date has a clasp mintmark which looks to us like a rolling pin. According to Numista, those marked with a "GS" were struck at Glückstadt.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.

Specification: 1.29 g, 0.281 fine silver, 19-20 mm diameter, this specimen 1.18 g.
