This specimen was lot 40129 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. Krone (4 Mark), 1659. Frederik III (1648-70). NGC MS-63. Entirely wholesome with pleasing silver and gold patina over surfaces that are satiny and approaching fully struck. Extremely elusive in this charming Mint State quality and notable as the only example of this Davenport number to be certified at MS-60 or above by both NGC and PCGS to date." This type is listed for 1659-61 and is one of numerous varieties issued on this date (KM 194.4a, 194.5, KM 221, KM 222, KM 223).
