This specimen was lot 55160 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "DANISH WEST INDIES. 24 Skilling, 1764. Copenhagen Mint. Frederick V. NGC AU Details--Cleaned." This type was struck 1763-65 along with a 6 skilling and 12 skilling. Few of the European powers bothered to strike coinage for their colonies in the Caribbean; the economic theory of the day suggested that colonies should be a source of bullion, not a drain.
