This specimen was lot 38071 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "CZECHOSLOVAKIA. 50 Korun, 1989. ANACS MS-65. Struck to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Breclav to Brno Railroad. From the Augustana Collection." This was struck the year that communism collapsed in Czechoslovakia. The two parts, Czechia and Slovakia, divorced in 1993.
Recorded mintage: 67,000 plus 3,000 proofs. The SCWC notes that 1,835 pieces were melted in 1999; these were likely the unsold remainder.
Specification: 7 g, 0.500 fine silver, 27 mm diameter.
