This specimen was lot 787 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 28 (Winter Park, FL, November 2020), where it sold for $72. The catalog description[1] noted, "Cuba (Trinidad / Santiago / Principe), 2 reales, star-in-lattice countermark (1841) on bust of Madrid, Spain, bust 2 reales, Ferdinand VII, 1812IJ, NGC Fine details / rev scratched, c/s XF standard. Deep countermark on small-flan host, deeply toned (somewhat patchy) with a few old marks." This countermark is fairly common in low grade. The countermark was also used to validate 4 reales on various hosts.

Specification: host coin 6.77 g, 0.812 fine silver.
