This specimen was lot 73093 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "ARGENTINA. Cordoba. 2 Reales, 1845. Cordoba Mint. PCGS VF-35. Exceptionally well struck up for the issue, most detail is visible in the sun and tower, quite a noteworthy feature when compared to other survivors. pale dove gray patina goes nicely with charcoal accents that elevate the devices with subtle contrast throughout. A wholesome and original survivor that will attract spirited bids from specialists. From the David Sterling Collection." This type was struck 1844-45 with many varieties.
