The first specimen was lot 23575 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $587.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Cordoba. Provincial Real 1848, MS64+ PCGS, variety with 8-pointed star, a superb example with rich old-time patina and full underlying luster. The strike is also exceptional for this provincial series. Undoubtedly one of the finest extant." The type was struck 1848 only but has a low catalog value. Varieties exist with an eight, nine and ten point sun on the obverse.
