This specimen was lot 41016 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "ARGENTINA. Cordoba. 1/4 Real, 1841-PP. NGC AU-55. A SCARCE date; this coin being the sole certified example on either the NGC or PCGS databases. This piece retains much enticing luster and displays ample detail on its robust planchet. Lovely plum-gray tone adds to its sophisticated charm. From the EMO Collection. Privately purchased from Freeman Craig (includes dealer flip)." This type was struck 1839-41; the 1839 is the most common.
