This specimen was lot 44539 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1,500 Pesos, 1973. PROOF-68 DEEP CAMEO (PCGS). 100th Anniversary, birth of Guillermo Valencia. Hard mirrored fields and frosted cameo devices. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This NCLT, along with a similar 1000 pesos (KM 254) and 2000 pesos (KM 257), honors the centennial of the birth of poet and translator Guillermo Valencia (1873-1943). Another 1500 pesos exists for 1973, honoring the gold museum in Bogota.
