This specimen was lot 44541 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $180. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1,000 Pesos, 1973. PROOF-68 DEEP CAMEO (PCGS). 100th Anniversary, birth of Guillermo Valencia. Hard mirrored fields and frosted cameo devices. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This NCLT, along with a similar 1500 pesos (KM 256) and 2000 pesos (KM 257), honors the centennial of the birth of poet and translator Guillermo Valencia (1873-1943).
