The specimens shown are a decimo and half decimo de real from 1847-48, one of Colombia's first attempts to issue copper coins since the emergency issues of the 1820's. They were minted in London and had a face value of one-half centavo of a peso. It was not a success, as no further base metal coins were issued until the 1870's.

Specification: 5 g, copper, 23.5 mm diameter, plain edge.
