This type was struck 1823-36 at Popayán. It is somewhat common. Assayer FM is listed for 1822-30. This specimen was lot 40331 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1827-RU/M Escudo. Popayán mint. AU-55 (PCGS). Attractively toned and showing strong luster on both sides. A choice example of this overassayer variety. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins. "
