This type was struck 1823-36 at Popayán. It is somewhat common. Assayer FM is listed for 1822-30. This specimen was lot 40329 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $264. The catalog description^[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1826-FM Escudo. Popayán mint. AU-58 (PCGS). Lustrous light yellow gold. A short scratch is noted behind the head. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins. Ex. Kurt Spanier, March 1982."
