This specimen was lot 105 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 21 (Winter Park, FL, May 2017), where it sold for $352.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Bogota, Colombia, bust 2 escudos, Charles III, 1778JJ. VF+ with toning around details, slightly off-center and out-of-round (as made)." This type was struck at Nuevo Reino (Bogotá) and Popayán 1772-84 and is probably the most common two escudos of colonial Latin America.
