This specimen was lot 20308 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 8 Escudos, 1758-PN J. Popayán Mint. Ferdinand VI. NGC AU Details--Cleaned. Cleaned long ago, now starting to retone. Lustrous with light "orange-peel" tone on the obverse." This type was struck 1758-60 and is the first issue of this mint.
