Chur 1628 groschen KM-79
This specimen was lot 2792 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$300 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SWITZERLAND, Grisons, Chur, Bistum, Joseph Mohr von Zernez, 1627-1635. Groschen 1628, Chur. 3 Wappen in Kleeblattstellung. Vorzüglich. (bishopric of Chur, Joseph Mohr von Zernez, 1627-35, groschen of 1628, Chur mint. Three shields in circle. Extremely fine.)"
The SCWC mentions two type for this date: KM 78 (4-fold arms in inner circle) and KM 79 (three shields with lilies in between, shown here). Chur, along with the rest of Switzerland, left the Empire in 1648 as part of the Treaty of Westphalia which ended the Thirty Years War.
