Sincona sale 25, lot 2075

This specimen was lot 2075 in Sincona sale 25 (Zürich, October 2015), where it sold for 57,000 CHF (about US$70,408 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Johann V. Flugi von Aspermont, 1601-1627 7 Ducat 1615. Armoured bust of St. Lucius to r. In field SL PEC as well as the, by the bust divided, date. Below in the circular legend two small arms with the ecclesiastic and family arms of the bishop. Rev. Crowned, nimbate double eagle. Very rare, especially in this magnificent quality. Almost uncirculated. Interesting planchet fault. Minimally undulated. The planchet fault is in the centre and was present before the coin was minted."

This rare type is accompanied by an equally rare ten ducats.
